Help Advance Our Understanding of Chronic Disease

Introduction

Welcome to the GH101 “Genetic Susceptibility and Management of Chronic Disease” study page. Grace Health Technology and Designer Genomics International are sponsoring a research study to explore the links between our genes and chronic illnesses like cancer.

The goal of this study is to take an integrated approach to the fields of pharmacogenomics and cancer genomics. By combining DNA and RNA analysis from a simple cheek swab, we hope to identify genetic markers that could indicate a person’s susceptibility to developing certain chronic diseases. Your participation could help open the door to earlier detection and new intervention possibilities.

How it Works

Participation in the GH101 study is simple and non-invasive.

  1. Eligibility Screening: We will confirm you meet the study’s criteria.
  2. Informed Consent: You and your physician will receive and be asked to sign consent forms. You will have full access to all data generated.
  3. Sample Collection: You will provide a sample by swabbing both of your cheeks for 30 seconds each.
  4. Receive Your Report: A genetic report will be created from your sample and provided to you and your doctor at no cost. This report may help your doctor in managing your overall health.

About Clinical Studies

A clinical research study (sometimes also called a trial) is carefully overseen research that is done before a medication, device, or laboratory test becomes available to the public.

  • Studies follow certain rules to protect the safety, rights, well-being, and privacy of participants.
  • Studies are an important way to bring about new medical treatments to improve patient care.

It is up to you whether you would like to take part in the study.

Deciding not to take part in the study or leaving the study after joining will not affect your usual medical care, either now or in the future.
